I saw a very interesting Challenge As I was browsing through my WordPress feed. Megan (A Geeky Gal) created this 30 days video game challenge where you answer a gaming related question every day! Feel free to join if you want to!
So the question for today will be: What is your favorite hidden gem?
So I have been thinking about an answer for this question all day long. I came up with two game, maybe even three games which were a very good hidden gem.
Have you ever looked through the Steam store and just watched hours straight to games which you thought were okay? You put them on your wishlist but you will eventually never buy these games. Well I have the same thing with these games. I wanted to play them but they were just not appealing enough which was so stupid of me to think. So after a long time I finally purchased them in a sale and started playing, oh boy was I surprised. These games were all small gems, even though most of you will know these games.
First: Abzu, This game was so beautiful and rather unique that it just completely blew my mind with the amazing visuals, music and even the story line. I actually dropped some tears because of this game. This game is just a masterpiece in my opinion!
Second: Firewatch, At first I didn’t know what I needed to expect from this game, but the story in this game was amazing in my opinion and the visuals were stunning as well!
Third: Stardew Valley, This game reminded me of Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing which were great games as well. I got completely hooked to Stardew Valley the moment I started playing it. I played +20 hours in just 2 days in two separate live streams. It was such a nice experience!

Abzu looks beautiful.
I’ve got Firewatch but haven’t played it yet. It looks fantastic but I really have to start it.
I want to get Stardew Valley but I would probably end up getting lost in it. It is still a might at the moment as I loved Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon games years ago.

Firewatch is quite a short game (a couple of hours) but completely worth it. And I think you wont get lost in Stardew Valley. The world isnt that big and it is quite easy to recognize!

I was more meaning I’ll get lost in it in the sense of just 5 more minutes then looking up 3 hours later…. It just looks like that sort of game to me.

Haha I figured you just didn’t get what I meant. It looks so fun though! Might pick it up sometime… Maybe once I have got through a few games I already have.

I highly recommend it! If you want to play sort like games as well check out: staxel and my time at porcia (or something like that)

Ooh more recommendations, I shall blame you if my backlog grows 😉 I’m only partially kidding haha. I know of both Staxel and My Time At Portia but haven’t really looked into them before now.

Let’s face it I probably don’t need much tempting… Reading everyone’s blogs tends to mean I find something else I want to play.

I think the problem is when you are trying to be good with game buying then you see all the games you now suddenly want. Then you magically seem to manage to grow your wish list.
