I saw a very interesting Challenge As I was browsing through my WordPress feed. Megan (A Geeky Gal) created this 30 days video game challenge where you answer a gaming related question every day! Feel free to join if you want to!
So the question for today will be: What open-world game gave you that “woah” feeling?
I really like playing open-world video games. Especially when the graphics are just phenomenal! Even if it is an racing, mmorpg, rpg or shooter game. I enjoy most of them! So what games really stood out for me?
I would go for Need for Speed Underground 2 back in the days when I played one of my first open-world games. This game was one of my all time favorite games. This game stood out with amazing graphics for that time. I loved racing games and I was very good at it. I think I have over 1500 hours in Need for Speed Underground 2, and I would still enjoy it if I could play it again.
The Witcher 3 is an open-world masterpiece. There is so much to see, so much to discover and the graphics are just amazing! I don’t know how many times I found myself just walking around the world enjoying the scenery. Or how I could just stare over the water for 5 minutes which had a calming effect to me!
Assassin’s Creed Origins is one of my favorite open-world games nowadays. I love the Egyptian setting and beautiful landscapes. And not even talking about the graphics it almost looks better than real life. And it has the same story as The Witcher 3, I caught myself enjoying the beauty of this game with my mouth wide open many times!
Of course there are so many other great open-world games but I think this is my top 3! I just believe that every game has an unique setting to it and if the graphics are good as well, it is just impossible to not have that ”woah” feeling!

First time the Witcher 3 definitely made me go woah, it was amazing.
I think GTA 3 was a bit of a woah moment as it was one of the first open world 3d games I’d ever played. It just felt so huge at the time and like you could do anything.

I’m really not into open world games, but the first time you step outside in Oblivion and Fallout 3 gave me that feeling.

Never played any of those 2 haha!

They both start underground and that early section of the game ends with you stepping out into the real world. The scale hits you hard with both of them.

Wow I remember NFS Underground 2. This game was super fun driving around in turbo. I also play Midnight Club L.A. which was pretty open and you could always find impromptu races while randomly driving around. It was pretty cool. I really need to play Assassin’s Creed Origins, it just looks sooo pretty. Great answer! I’m happy to see that you are continuing the 30 day challenge!
I’ve also nominated your blog for the Sunshine Blogger Award. If you would like to participate, the link is below. Enjoy your weekend!

Breath of the Wild feels like the easiest answer since it did a great job at making you feel insignificant. I was also blown away by AC Origins’ take on Ancient Egypt. Its sense of scale and beauty was unrivaled last year.

Well I would go for Breath of the Wild as well but I never played it so I can’t imagine the beauty of the scenery myself. I can only see some stuff on video’s and streams but that’s not the same!
