VGC Day 30: What game do you think you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving?

I saw a very interesting Challenge As I was browsing through my WordPress feed. Megan (A Geeky Gal) created this 30 days video game challenge where you answer a gaming related question every day! Feel free to join if you want to!

So the question for today will be: What game do you think you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving?

So it is the last day of this challenge. I really had fun with it even though I was not able to answer all the questions, simply because of lack of time or just didn’t know a good answer to it! I just want to thank every single one of you who read my posts. So far February was my best month by far and I think no other month will break these statistics soon. So there will be some changes coming soon but I will talk about that in a different blog post! So let’s get to the question!

I started playing a game 1900 hours ago… a game which is called Rocket League. I hated this games’ guts haha. In the first 100 hours in this game I couldn’t hit a ball. I uninstalled the game so many times till the time came where I started playing with some friends, who became my team members for a while as well. I started grinding Rocket League so much. I actually played around 50 hours a week or so haha. I started to get better and started to enjoy the game more and more.

Nowadays I play Rocket League almost every single day! I play tournaments, compete on almost the highest level and I got my own team which is called ”Hyrule”.

We had to play qualifiers for the RLCS (Rocket League world championships) last Wednesday. We actually had high hopes of getting to the finals of the qualifiers, but we actually managed to qualify for the next round! We have made it to top 64 best Rocket League teams in Europe! I am so proud of my performances but I am even more proud on how well my team played!

You can watch the lower bracket finals of the qualifiers in the following Youtube video! Ps. It was a very intense game! You can find the other matches on my Youtube as well!

  1. I’d have to say Undertale. Going into it, I was slightly worried because I knew the kinds of things that became hyper-popular on the internet were to be taken with a grain of salt. Indeed, considering what it was inspired by, I was afraid it would end up like Mother 3, the sequel to Earthbound. Fortunately, that wasn’t the case; it turned out to be every bit as good as the internet made it out to be. It’s easily one of the best games of the 2010s, and it’s exactly what I look for in a story-heavy game.

      1. That’s exactly what I thought until I played it. Now, it’s my go-to example when recommending a story-heavy game.

  2. OMG Congratulations! Rocket League is a simple concept but really fun to play especially if you have teammates. That’s fantastic that you have qualified for the next round and I hope that you make it far in the tournament! Congratulations on having a great month in February as well! It’s a shorter month so it’s great to see that your stats are rising :).
